This is "The Edgar" nutmeg grater, patented in 1891 by George H. Thomas and later manufactured by the Edgar Manufacturing Company, named after Edgar Damon. It's made of tin with a wooden handle and knob, featuring a spring mechanism that holds the nutmeg and a sliding grater for ease of use. It is missing the bottom knob, but could be replaced.
